Background and Safety

Jabiru Aircraft Pty Ltd has been in operation for more than 30 years and has gained a strong presence in the Recreational Aviation scene. The aircraft have proven to be of high structural integrity.

See spin, load, and drop tests here.

Both the engine and the propeller have been designed specifically for the aircraft though the engine has applications for other airframes and UAVs. Jabiru has sold over 2,000 aircraft and 6,500 engines throughout the world.

The Jabiru, with its comparatively long history in the Light Sport industry, has evolved to a very comfortable and predictable cross country aircraft, with one of the best safety records in the industry. This is documented by data compiled by both the Australia Transport and Safety Board ATSB and Aviation Consumer Magazine. Of interest is the almost equal number of Cessna 172 and Jabiru aircraft in the ATSB report. You can see other Light Sport Aircraft Safety information here.

Jabiru aircraft, engines and propellers are certified to CASA or ASTM LSA standards which are internationally recognized airworthiness and quality assurance standards.

The Airframe and Powerplant are supported by a 2 year or 500 hour warranty, the sooner that occurs. See the warranty here.

Detailed technical manuals are available free of charge on this website.

Jabiru is an Australian owned company. Airframes, engines and propellers are designed and manufactured in Australia.
