JABIRU KITS
The Jabiru J430 Four Seat and J230 Two Seat aircraft have been developed as touring aircraft with a wide cockpit, high cabin and ample leg room front and rear, and three human sized doors in both models.
The J430 is intended as a great alternative to GA aircraft such as the Cessna 172/182. The Jabiru J430 cruises at 120 knots on about 6.5 – 7 GPH. The Jabiru J230 has similar performance, though in a 2 seat configuration. It is the same fuselage as the J430 just without the rear seating, cruises at 120 KTAS on a little less fuel than the J430.
The Jabiru J170-D aircraft was designed as a trainer aircraft that is bigger all round than most Light Sport Aircraft. This 2 door model keeps the wide cockpit, higher cabin, ample leg room and slightly larger doors than the J430. It also has a huge rear cargo area that can hold up to 80 pounds behind the seats! With same wings as the J430/230, it has plenty of stability and a lower stall speed, as well as a shorter take off and landing. It is designed to meet the US Sport Plane category and the Transport Canada Advanced Ultralight Standards. The J170 cruises at 100 KTAS.
The high wings with long and sleek winglets make all of these aircraft stand out in a crowd.
The composite four and two-seat aircraft, powered by the reputable Jabiru 3300 120 hp, air-cooled, six-cylinder, direct drive engine, have been steadily growing in popularity. This is due to the unrivaled entry level pricing, low maintenance and excellent flying performance for four and two-seat aircraft, when compared with the equivalent available aircraft in its class. The J170 can also use the J2200 80 hp, 4 cylinder engine, making it a fuel miser burning as low as 3 to 3.5 gph!
The Jabiru Airframe kits are manufactured using Fibre Reinforced Plastic (FRP) technologies. It is a system which offers light weight at the same time as high structural integrity and simple construction.
The Kit
The kits come complete with everything to complete the airframe including the motor mount, engine cowl, wheel pants, instrument panel box, brakes, wheels and tires. The balance of equipment to complete the aircraft are engine, prop, paint or vinyl graphics, upholstery, avionics and headsets. The kit build time is typically 600 hours from start to finish.
Everything has been thought of right down to resin mixing cups, mixing sticks, applicators and brushes.

The Finish
The Jabiru components all come with a primed finish thus reducing completion times and frustration.
The Fuselage and Components
The fuselage is provided with the top and bottom halves already joined for you. Primed Control surfaces are closed and ready for installation. Most of the home builder’s work involves fitting out the aircraft with components and hardware supplied. All locating points are identified by factory drilled holes, and hard points are factory installed. Then fit the horizontal stabilizer and vertical fin.
The Manual
Detailed constructor’s manual sets out the step-by-step procedures, checklists, engineering drawings and includes more than 100 photographs.

Skill Level
You need not have a degree in electrical engineering, an intimate knowledge of hydraulics or a garage full of tools to complete this aircraft. There are no complex or complicated systems on this aircraft. The gear stays down, the prop pitch is fixed and a simple switch operates the flaps. The brakes are hydraulic and the simplicity will delight you.
Your Jabiru kit is designed to be simple to complete and finish, and will provide you with many years of enjoyable flying.
Once completed you will find the aircraft extremely economical with operating costs more associated with a car than an aeroplane, and the ease of maintenance will increase.
Engine
The J170 is designed for the Jabiru 4 cylinder 80 HP or the Jabiru 6 cylinder, 120 HP Jabiru engine. J230 and J430 are designed for the Jabiru 6 cylinder, 120 HP Jabiru engine. We recommend waiting to order the engine and prop so that the engine is not sitting around during the build process, unless you use the Builder Assist program.
